At Bright Spaces, our mission is to constantly innovate and deliver 3D Digital Twin solutions that redefine the Real Estate industry. As we continued to scale, we recognized the need to refine our leadership structure to better meet the demands of our rapidly growing product and diverse customer needs.
With this in mind, Andrei Constantin, our co-founder, has transitioned fully into the role of Chief Product Officer (CPO), while Alexandru Leca, our Senior Software Architect, has stepped into the role of Chief Technology Officer (CTO). This shift is designed to bring a sharper focus on both product development and technical scalability, ensuring that our solutions remain innovative and robust while evolving holistically to meet the diverse needs of our customers.
To give you more insight into the reasons behind this change and what it means for the future of Bright Spaces, we sat down with Andrei and Alex to talk about their new roles, the evolving vision of our product, and the strategic focus going forward.
Q: Andrei, you’ve moved from a dual role as CTO and CPO to focusing solely on being the Chief Product Officer. Why was this change necessary?
Andrei: As Bright Spaces grew, it became increasingly clear that we needed a dedicated focus on product development. Our portfolio has become more diverse, with many features serving multiple market segments, and managing this complexity requires someone to focus exclusively on product strategy. Up until now, I was handling both the technical and product sides, but splitting my attention between the two became less effective as we scaled. By fully dedicating myself to the CPO role, I can ensure we build a clear, unified vision for the product and keep delivering solutions that truly meet the needs of our customers.
Q: What does your new role as CPO mean for the future of Bright Spaces’ product development?
Andrei: The shift allows me to dive deeper into understanding our clients’ pain points and ensuring we address them in a structured, scalable way. My focus will be on driving product innovation—talking to clients, gathering feedback, refining our feature set, and aligning everything with business goals. We have a lot of moving parts with different features and modules, and I’ll be working to ensure all of these elements fit together cohesively. Ultimately, my goal is to accelerate our product’s maturity and position us for growth across all the markets we’re targeting.
Q: Alex, congratulations on stepping into the CTO role! Can you tell us what your priorities will be as CTO?
Alex: Thank you! I’m excited to take on this role, especially given my deep involvement in architecting and building many of Bright Spaces’ core features and technical infrastructure from the early days. As CTO, my vision extends beyond just technical scaling – it’s about creating a unified ecosystem where technology, product, and business objectives align seamlessly. Having been instrumental in developing our platform’s architecture, I understand both the technical foundations and the importance of cross-departmental synergy. My priorities will include strengthening communication channels between teams, optimizing our development processes, and ensuring our technical decisions support both immediate needs and long-term strategic goals. While maintaining our platform’s robustness, security, and scalability remains crucial, I’m particularly focused on streamlining how our teams work together – from initial concept to final implementation. This holistic approach will help us maintain our rapid growth while delivering high-quality solutions more efficiently.
Q: How will this leadership shift improve collaboration between product and tech teams?
Andrei: The big benefit here is clarity. Now that we have distinct roles, we can focus more effectively on our areas of expertise while still working closely together. The product team will focus on defining the vision, business requirements, and features, while the tech team, under Alex’s leadership, will ensure we can implement those ideas in a way that’s scalable and technically sound. There’s a natural collaboration between these two functions, and we’re both aligned on driving innovation without sacrificing execution.
Alex: Exactly. Andrei and I have always worked well together, and this new structure formalizes that collaboration. It’s a constant back-and-forth where the product team defines what needs to be built, and the tech team figures out how to make it happen efficiently. The clearer division of responsibilities will make that process smoother and faster.
Q: What are the next big steps for Bright Spaces, from both a product and technology perspective?
Andrei: From a product standpoint, we’re focusing on creating more modular solutions that can serve multiple verticals. We’re working to ensure that our platform remains flexible, allowing us to tailor it to different market segments without starting from scratch for each new feature. We’re also doubling down on customer feedback to refine our offerings and create a more user-friendly, intuitive experience.
Alex: On the tech side, it’s all about scaling intelligently. We want to ensure that as our customer base and feature set grow, our technology can handle it seamlessly. I’m also focused on improving our internal processes to make development more efficient, reducing bugs, and ensuring faster turnaround times on new features. While exploring innovative solutions, we’re taking a measured approach to automation and AI integration – implementing them specifically in areas where they provide tangible value to our clients. Rather than following trends, we’re carefully evaluating where intelligent automation can genuinely enhance our processes and user experience. For instance, we’re looking at areas where AI can meaningfully streamline complex workflows or provide valuable insights, but always with a clear focus on practical benefits rather than just technological novelty.
This leadership shift is an exciting new chapter for Bright Spaces. With Andrei at the helm of product development and Alex leading technology, we’re confident that we’re on the path to even greater innovation and success in the proptech industry.
